Alexander Hermann built the Auto Refresh app as a Commercial app. This SERVICE is provided by Alexander Hermann and is intended for use as is. Auto Refresh is a productivity tool designed to automate web page refreshing and content monitoring with a “privacy-first” approach, performing critical tasks locally on your device.

  • Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) to our servers or any third parties. Any information requested for the app’s functionality is retained on your device.
  • Browsing History: We do not track, record, or store the history of the websites you visit.

The App utilizes the standard Android System WebView.

  • Session Maintenance: Cookies are stored locally on your device by the system to maintain active login sessions on the websites you monitor. We do not have access to these cookies.
  • Third-Party Code: The app may use third-party libraries that use cookies to improve their services. You can choose to accept or refuse these cookies in your system settings.

4. Background Monitoring Service (Special Use)

To provide real-time updates, the App includes a specialized Foreground Service.

  • Functionality: This service monitors web page changes in the background and delivers notifications.
  • Energy Efficiency: Optimized for battery conservation, the service automatically suspends monitoring when the device’s battery level falls below 15%.
  • User Control: This feature is optional and is only activated when explicitly started by the user.

5. Content Filtering and Security

The App includes a proactive security system to protect users:

  • Google Safe Browsing: We utilize Google’s Safe Browsing API to protect users from known malicious websites and phishing.
  • Local Filtering: All content filtering (Keywords and Domain Blacklists) is performed locally on your device to ensure maximum privacy.

6. Service Providers and Third-Party Links

We may employ third-party companies (e.g., Google Play Services) to facilitate our Service or analyze usage. These third parties have access to technical Log Data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose it. When you visit third-party websites through the App, you are subject to their respective privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external sites.

7. Permissions

The App requests the following permissions for core functionality:

  • Internet Access: To load and monitor pages.
  • Foreground Service: To perform monitoring while the app is minimized.
  • Post Notifications: To alert you of detected content changes.
  • Battery Status: To optimize performance based on energy levels.

8. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since the App provides access to the open internet, we recommend a parental guidance rating of 12+.
